All CMMI Institute-certified individuals are required to communicate technical concepts in English. Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak understandable English. You will not qualify for the appraiser, instructor, or expert certifications if you cannot demonstrate this requirement. We recommend that you provide your TOEFL score as demonstration of this prerequisite.
Note: The TOEFL exam is recommended, but not required. The candidate must be able to read, write, and speak understandable English. They will not qualify if they cannot demonstrate this requirement. The TOEFL exam provides some verification, but even it by itself is not enough—ultimately the candidate will need to communicate in English in the class and during the observation.
